Deborah Gabriel April 2014 180x232Dr Deborah Gabriel created this site in August 2011 for Black bloggers in the UK. It has since expanded to include blogs throughout the African Diaspora including north America, the Caribbean and Africa. She holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies for her thesis: Blogging While Black and British: An Exploratory Study on the Use of Blogs as Social, Cultural and Counterhegemonic Practice. She is a Senior Lecturer in Politics, Media, Culture and  Communication at Bournemouth University and the Founder and Director of Black British Academics.
